Simple Turkey Pie


With turkey a popular and big bird at any time of the year, here’s a quick and easy recipe for Turkey Pie using up leftovers from Christmas or a family get-together.

Serves 4, Preparation time 15 mins, Cooking Time 30 mins

Ingredients
Leftover cooked Freedom Food, free range or organic turkey pieces
One cup of cooked vegetable leftovers
One packet of shortcrust pastry
One tin of condensed chicken or mushroom soup
Half a tin of water or basic white sauce
Salt and pepper

Method
Mix up your white sauce or empty the contents of the soup and water into a saucepan. Add the turkey and vegetables. Mix well and pour into a pie dish. Roll out the pastry to fit over the pie dish and trim the pastry at the edges, using it to decorate the top of the pie if you like. Brush with milk or egg yolk and cook for 30 minutes at 180oC. Simple.
