M&S fashion

Totally innovative thinking

Winter 2012 - Multi-RSPCA Good Business Award winner Marks & Spencer keeps on pushing the case for ethical improvements in higher animal welfare in the fashion business – which saw them scoop 2010’s Award for outstanding achievement.

Innovation in fashion trends has been an M&S hallmark for many years and they continue to push the boundaries of wool that is sourced only from higher welfare stocks. Wool is rightly popular again this season and there’s something to suit the whole family in store and online now.

For hims, for hers and for the kids too

For him - Wool, in it’s many forms, is a key trend textile in menswear this season. From statement chunky knit scarves and jumpers, to sharp wool suits and coats, it’s easy to dress for warmth and style this season.

For her - Wool can be found in so many items across womenswear - from animal print cloche hats to military style coats, suits and jackets.

For the kids - warm, cosy and fashionable winter wool can hit all the right notes - so have fun with it, the more layers the better!

In 2007 Marks and Spencer launched Plan A - a 5-year plan to embed sustainability into their business. Part of Plan A is focused on ensuring that M&S continues to have some of the highest welfare standards on the high street.

Your M&S say...

“We are committed to ensuring that all of the wool used in our products is from higher welfare sources. This means using wool from farms that do not practice mulesing - a practice that is often used by Australian sheep farmers to prevent flystrike. Mulesing can be distressing for sheep, so M&S is working to ensure that all wool products come from non-mulesed animals.”
