Beyond Skin – RSPCA Good Business Award Winner 2011
Winter 2012: It may have taken over 10 years, but Beyond Skin have very definitely gone beyond the call for animal welfare to scoop the Small Company RSPCA Good Business Award 2011 in the Fashion category.
Born in 2001, Beyond Skin was created in response to “the considerable lack of quality, stylish - yet cruelty-free - footwear on the market,” says Heather Whittle – part of the five-strong team based in Brighton, UK. “In the past, attempts to combine fashion and ethics have generally resulted in one side of the equation being sacrificed. We wanted to change this by creating a brand of gorgeous shoes and accessories that did not exploit humans, animals, or wherever possible the wider environment, nor sacrifice aesthetic, quality or design.
“Through our success as a label, we aim to prove that animal products are not a necessity and that fashion and ethics can go hand in hand. We set out on a mission to bring about style and quality to those that cared."
All Beyond Skin shoes are now made in Alicante, Spain. Each season new collections are added to new stores. The latest collection includes a more affordable line of essential styles, as well as the current line of boutique, vegan chic shoes. Plans to enter the world of accessories - purses and handbags - and a menswear range are in the vegan pipeline!

Face facts for fab feet: Beyond Skin – the Brighton-based vegan footwear and accessories label, now in its tenth year of trading, was founded to create gorgeous products of high quality and stylish design that simply don’t exploit humans, animals or the environment.
