With thousands of cosmetics already tried, tested and widely available, the long-awaited 2009 EU-wide ban on testing products and their ingredients on animals marked a successful outcome for campaigners including the RSPCA.
The cosmetics industry is moving forward thanks, in no small part, to the efforts of a number of both big and small cosmetics businesses - including those recognised in the RSPCA Good Business Awards between 2006 and 2009.
Now, with significant improvements to european law, the awards no longer recognise cosmetics companies for their achievements, but we've included links here to award-winners from the past - so that you know where to start if you want to find some of the very best products on offer.
